A delightful old steam sand dredger, thanks to Paul Hood for finding some details in the Mercantile Navy Lists
1902, 244grt, built at Blackwall as RAPID and later owned as seen here by Holms Sand & Gravel of Bristol
And thanks to Stephen Carter for more details ... she was built by Thames Ironworks as a hopper called (rather optimistically) RAPID for the William Cory fleet. Sold around 1922 to T.R.Brown of Bristol and converted to a sand dredger and renamed ALWIN, later with Brown's companies Holms Sand & Gravel, Bristol and later Norwest Sand & Ballast at Liverpool. Broken up at Connah's Quay in 1960.
