      I?ve been doing a little more research on this old freighter...

      ?HANS M?RSK? (1), 1916, Call-signs: N V H D - O Y E B. Homeport= Kalundborg, DK. Lloyds ID No: 5604015

      Owner was D/S af 1912 A/S, (A. P. M?ller, K?benhavn) ? (From 1916 to 1958).
      She was delivered 13-08-1916 by A. Vuyk & Zonen - Capelle a/d Ijssel as their new building number:
      # 440.
      89,20 m x 85,72 m x 12,25 m x 5,82 m x 5,67 m
      BRT: 1.999 ? NRT:
      1139 - TDW: 3.060.

      3 cylinders Triple Expansion Steam Engine from G. Clark Ltd., Sunderland, It had 900 Ihp, resulting in 9 knots speed.


      She was built with 2 holds, 4 hatches, 2 masts and 6 x 3 tons Derricks
      New building price was DKR: 545.780,-

      Between July 1918 and 1919 she was in American service.
      10-07-1921, she went aground in the Finish Bight while on route from Bristol to Petrograd.
      22-01-1924, she had a collision with the Danish ship Nerma while they sailed at the River Thames.
      18-04-1924, she collided in the Hudson River and was very damaged by this accident
      03-01-1927, she had another collision at the Hudson River, this time with a dredger.
      XX-02- 1930, this time she was involved in a collision in the Kiel Canal and had extensive damages.
      30-01-1932, the next collision was in the British Chanel and once again she was extensively damaged.
      05-05-1934, this collision happened near Cap Henry and was with an American vessel, the
      "Ida Hay Atwater". Hans M?rsk was too damaged to sail by her own power, so she was towed home to Denmark for repairs at Svendborg Yard.
      21-03-1940, she went aground near Hattorp Rev and once again she went to the yard in Svendborg for repairs.
      From 1940 till 1945, this time period she was under German control.
      14-06-1945, but a month after the WW2 in Europe ended she was once again part in a collision. This time in the Danish belt named Alssund where she rammed into a local ferry.
      Sadly 2 passengers were killed in this incident with the ferry from Hardesh?j to Ballebro.

      13-02-1946, this time she was grounded near Vesborg Fyr on the Danish island of Sams?. She was bound for Odense and carried a load of 3000 tons of coal whereof the 400 tonnes was on loaded as a deck cargo.Within a couple of days she discharged some of the coal into barges and on the 15th
      of February she was light enough to get off the ground and continue her journey to Odense.
      XX-XX-1953, she was laid-up in Esbjerg.
      28-11-1953 till 22-06-1954, this period she was laid-up at Svendborg.
      XX-11- 1956, she was sold to C. M. Estrella Azul Rombo Blanco (Calafatis) in Panama and she should be renamed to ?CONSTANTINE C? with the homeport placed in Monrovia, but the contract was cancelled.


      19-12-1956, she was therefore laid-up in Sydhavn in the port of Copenhagen waiting for the next possible buyer to come by.

      XX-05-1958, she was finally sold by A. P. M?ller A/S, K?benhavn to Pothos Shipping Company, (N. J. Nomikos) - Monrovia for the price of DKR: 1.324.448,- and she was renamed ?POTHO? and her new homeport was also Monrovia.
      XX-XX-1961, she was sold to Beirut.
      15-03-1962, she went aground near Siralo, south of Ancon, and she broke in 3 parts. She was on route from Novorossiysk to Ravenna with a cargo of timber. Sadly 10 persons drowned in this final accident of hers..... but luckily there was a successful rescue of the surviving 11 crewmembers from the ship also....
