MRCC Etel France received an emergency report from boxship COSCO
Nagoya at 2030 LT Dec 23 13. Vessel reported loss of 79 containers in a bad
weather some 200 nautical miles off Penmarc, Bay of Biscay. Some fifty
containers on board fell or tilted, vessel en route from Rotterdam to New
York turned back and proceeded to Le Havre, to secure the containers. As
of 0300 UTC Dec 25 vessel escorted by rescue ship Abeille Liberte was
approaching Le Havre outer road. 30 containers were spotted drifting in the
area vicinity 45 42N 007 38W, 195 nautical miles SSW off Brest.
