My first name is Carl, and I love ships. And I have never been on one.
In fact I have been to the ocean only a couple times and only once "in contact" with sea water. Aye, I be a land lubber, matey!
I'm 47, semi-retired because of an accident I was in, and now physically impaired. But I have returned to college. In the mean time I am building what I dreamt of as a kid- my own ship. I am turning a 16' Coleman Scanoe into a 192' freighter, maybe a tanker, I'm uncertain. And that is why I am here, gathering info on the ships, getting pics, stuff like that.
It's a project I have wanted to complete for over 40 years now.
