    Royal Danish Yacht

The photos are taken on the 11-04-2011 in the Harbour of Frederikshavn.
The royal yacht stay/lay in the navy Harbour in Frederikshavn each winter. All winter she is rigged off and packed down and the whole ship are put into a great big tent to Keep her dry, clean and warm, (yes they heat up inside the tent during the winter). And all winter craftsmen are doing a lot of work on her to Keep her up to royal ship-shape. And in April each year they un-wrap her and put up the masts and make her ready to go out to sea...
This was the first day they went out to sea to Train the new Crew to work and serve the royalties while at sea and in the of that trip they went to Copenhagen where the queen payed a visit on board letting her flag to be hoisted in stead of the normal flag. This way it is marked that the summer season on board the Queens royal yacht has begun.... same procedure each and every year....

The pictures are either from my own collection and/or from the archives on the Bangsbo Museum in Frederikshavn in DK and/or from the Danish Maritime Museum in Elsinore, DK. Dates, locations and photographers are unknown factors if they are not specifically mentioned.

Hi Kent, thank you very much for sharing

Well, read that the danish people no longer want to pay for this expensive procedure, maybe the Royals have to pay for it next time, if they still want to use the Yacht, guess would be out of their Petty Cash
Best wishes, stay safe and take care
