She was used to tow ball-clay barges from Bearne's clay fields near Bovey down the Stover Canal and on the River Teign for trans-shipment at Teignmouth. Incidentally Watts Blake Bearne are still in the same business as a major minerals company WBB Minerals, now under Belgian parentage.
