Artisgracht

Initially Spliethoff named their vessels after the grachten (canals) of Amsterdam and other cities.

At a certain moment I guess they ran out of names and started to make up new ones.

ARTISGRACHT is no doubt named after the Amsterdam Zoo, simply called ARTIS.

Whatever they decide to use next time, then Spliethoff's vessels are always recognisable.
Thought to pass on this trivia for the few who did not know.
