One of a group of five oil burning colliers built to serve power generating stations on the River Thames. This vessel was the last of the group and was in fact the last steam powered collier built for service in the coal trade between the north east of England and the Thames.
Built by William Pickersgill & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, in 1955 for the Central Electricity Authority, London. ( this would become the Central Electricity Generating Board in 1958)
Sold to the Christin Coast Compania Naviera S.A., Pireaus, in 1976 and renamed FANIS
Demolished in 1984

Yes, Jan - all the fleet were owned by the Central Electricity Authority from 1954 - 1958 when the name style became the Central Electricity Generating Board.
