      Hi Dierk, which will be followed by many more

      On 14 June 1911 launched the Olympic under the command of Captain Edward John Smith, who later commanded the Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton via Cherbourg and Queenstown to New York. In September 1911 she had a severe collision with the British cruiser HMS Hawke, who made a costly three-month repair required. In this way, completion and maiden voyage of the Titanic delayed by three weeks.
