Hi Paul, guess info of her can only be obtained by our dutch friends, got some hits on http://www.kustvaartforum.com

She used to be a Landing craft, being converted to a cargo ship at Harlingen, first one was called ORCA

Miramar is not correct, if this is the same vessel, as you can see for yourself, if she was converted as trawler, why did she founder with a cargo of corn??

          A bit confusing here.

          I got following photos:

Arran stated as built in 1944

Nigeria , stated as built in 1943, this one could be the ex ORCA??

Just see what you can make of it.

            ARRAN IMO No 5025251

Hi Paul,Jan and Hans, thank you very much for providing these informations,

am sorry for the long delay, but got a lot "on my plate"

Did find out that the USN and RN both had LCT with number 460 in their service.

Thanks to the Forum/Site "Scottish Built Ships" I did find some interesting information.

            Here is the link:

hope that my screenshots do comply with the complicating, often confusing copyright laws....will delete if being asked too
