Afternoon all,
Just a starter from a new member. Has anybody got any pictures of shipping in Greenwich, I grew up there in the 70's/80's, just at the end of the road from Lovell's Wharf.
In that time we had Anchor Iron Wharf handling scrap
Lovell's handled steel and other metals
Granite Wharf, Wimpeys asphalt batching plant
Badcocks Wharf who where busy converting Crescent ships for cable laying
Tunnel Refineries handling maize for processing
Victoria Deep Water Terminal, short sea containers
Deptford Creek was busy too with mostly scrap and stone and aggregates
Convoys, paper, timber and pulp
Any photos of vessels at Lovell's and Victoria Deep Wharf are especially what im looking for.
Thanks for reading.
Peter
