Memories for me also, it was my last day as Port Manager, Goole and marked the abolition of the post which had existed since 1827!

The coaster on Fisons (Dutch River) was FRISNES which had just come in on the morning tide around 11.30.

Redcliffe Sand and Ursula (+ one other) in West dock in first photo, Cotinga and Ursula Wessels in South dock on second (that view had me confused as you can't see Timm's or the coal hoist - the lamp post is still there though!)

That ship near to us looks familiar im not shure of her name but i think she was laid up and we towed her to zebrugge with the Towing Wizzard to be scrapped i coul be wrong !!! but we did tow one from that berth in the late 80s

                    Best regards Malc

I would prefer that some of my antics when in Ivy's stay well and truly in the past, pool table and a certain young 'lady' ???? springs to mind

Hi Pat did you know an old mate of ours Mike Lewis, Agent/Broker in Goole and then took on a berth about 8-10 years ago, can't remember name of it but you can just about see it in one of your photos - Cheers Gareth

                            Hi Guys

The other ship in the photo is the Russian vessel Ambla.

                            Cheers

                            Paul
