Dutch or German Built from the looks of it Rick. Derricks with a pair of King Posts in the middle. Probably 2 hatches. Was thinking possibly one of those China clay ships beginning "Gal----", rgrds

Looking at the flag on the stern, it looks like it may be that of Angola. Could she be one of the Secil ships?

Certainly not U.K. built,but could be Dutch or German as you say.

I know the GAL boats Galtide etc-Greek flag some of them,used to get in Par/Fowey.Do you not think she's a bit too smart for one of them ?

Cannot remember but seem to think they had a couple of bigger ships towards the End. Other bit is most of them were geared ships. Any idea as to what year the picture was taken?

No idea when the photo was taken Ron.I bought it on Ebay-in an album,mainly full of rig boats,some years ago,with no indication of when it was taken.

Having a closer look at the construction, reckon for sure German Built, and not sure but something similiar to a ship called Havlyn, only thoughts. Maybe peter with his knowledge may come up with something. If you got the tug's name maybe you can find out when the salvage/tow took place?

Morning all - is that an M on the end of the name ? looking through the starboard window of tugs bridge,not much help but agree with Ron reckon she German built, 70's early 80's and abt 3-3500dwt ? Cheers Gareth

Hi Mike and all - she's not Intersee (our parent Co) but she looks like a ship that Oost Atlantic, Genchart or Gruno (all Dutch) would operate in the past? think she a singledecker but could well be closed shelterdecker as you say.Wonder if she going in to load with compulsory tugs assistance or as Ron says salvage but looks like her prop is turning or is that all the stern tug prop wash ? Hello Gareth, Fwd tug looks a bit big for yarmouth as a harbour tug. But who knows. Yes OAL run ships like that, but my first thoughts was the ships running down to Samsun for Holwerda.
